Sarojini Naidu (part-two)
|
Sarojini Naidu is well
known as powerful and eloquent speaker .Her fluent speeches electrified the
Indian masses. Sarojini Naidu `s vision of life reflected in her fiery and
inspiring speeches which were “ Perfect pieces of art”. We , the present
generation , know her only through books. Still, we feel an unusual warmth
and an inexplicable urge to dedicate ourselves for the sake of national
integrity.
|
Sarojini
Naidu dedicated her life completely to the service of India . She
epitomizes the true Indian woman---- a self dignified woman with courage
and will power . Her life as a social worker needs special mention. Even
now , the Indian woman is suppressed with savage cruelty by the iron
hand of the conservative Indian man. She advocated for the welfare of
women especially for the amelioration of the plight of Hindu widows .She
exhorted the Indian women to come out of their ‘kitchen worlds’ to an
entirely different political world outside as a means to identify their
inner self. She combined social causes with political causes and
educating people through ardent endeavor. |
|
Sarojini Naidu not only spoke but
worked tirelessly to eradicate the political and social anarchy that
prevailed in India at that time. She realized the need to educate of such
great women. In spite of the efforts of such great leaders , the female
literacy in India is still on a shameful level. It shows the lack of
planning , organization, sincerity, and above all commitment. Now days the
politicians have their hearts in their mouths . Great souls like Sarojini
Naidu strived for the freedom. Sarojini Naidu was a staunch supporter of
Gandhiji and was far sighted enough to see the relevance of his teachings
and non-violent principles in the future world. We have to imbibe the
sublime qualities of sacrifice, honesty and true dedication from her life as
we see around us the dark clouds of fear, distrust and vandalism haunting
every nook and corner of the country. Sarojini Naidu strived for the freedom
of India from the shackles of British imperialism , now she is free from
british raj .
