Marlilyn Monre (1926-1962) (part-two)


She got modeling offer and a number of magazines signed her as their “ Cover Girl”  . She worked briefly with Columbia Pictures in low budget musical film a like Ladies of the Chorus  and Love Happy both in the year 1949. At this point she had an affair with a music director and this again made her dishearten and reminded of the insecurities which she was running from .

This affair left her in the state of self annihilation .She also attempted suicide .  Arthur Horn blow jr. and John Houston when they were looking for a face to fill a minor part in their film , The Asphalt Jungle ,” As soon as we saw her knew she was the one “ recalls Horn blow.

The film turned successful but the  main cause of the audience running to the theatres   was Marilyn , her beauty which was doing all the magic in the hearts and mind of people .She is recognized as the Calendar Girl but and public said that Marilyn should be in . Her films like ‘All About Eve’ (1950), ‘Love Nest’(1951),’ Clash by Night ‘(1952) all hailed Marilyn Monroe as the love icon of the centaury .

In 1953 she received international fame for her roles in films like ‘Niagara’, ‘How to Marry A Millionaire’ and ‘Gentleman Prefer Blondes. ‘,1954 saw her as the leading lady of Fox Production. She had all money , fame and beauty at this point of time and she was loving her move of life Marilyn married the famous baseball player Joe Di Maggio in 1954. They divorced  a year later. In 1956 she married the play writer Arthur Miller . Although the marriage between them lasted for four years but Marilyn said that in this relation she thought that there is a shelter with her and all in a way she felt supportive, not alone .She was now thirty-six and all whatever her relation with Arthur Miller also ended with a tragedy which made everyone spellbound  . Arthur Miller  has dramatized the tragedy in his play,’ After The Fall’ . The star relationship with in the then US president John .F Kennedy began in 1954 when he was a senator and continued on and off until 1962 , when she used to disguise herself in wings for trysts with the young President.  But she was broken when he tried to distance himself from her.

Marilyn emotional stability seemed erode more with each film with sleeping pills, drink, collapses , rows ,tardiness , triumphs, and pregnancy terminations. No one claimed her body on death .And the people who know her felt that the  death was inevitable. Marilyn throughout her life had a complex hard question She was really concern about her platinum hair, luminous skin , black lashes and scarlet lips which was something she developed and honed over the years.
