    Madeleine Albright was the 64th United States Secretary of State. She took over the office of Secretary of State from Warren Christopher in January 23, 1997 until January 20, 2001 in the President ship of Bill Clinton. When she took over the office of Secretary of State, she became the first woman in the annals of the United States political history to be honored with this post. However, in the Bill Clinton?s time she was succeeded by Colin Powell.

    This famous Democrat of the United States was born in May 15, 1937 in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). Her childhood name was Marie Jana Korbelova. She was raised as Roman Catholic by her parents, who had converted into Catholicism from Judaism. They have done this conversion to escape from the persecution of the Jews from the Nazis of Germany. From the childhood day this girl was following the footstep of her father.
