Laura Bush is presently the First Lady of United States of America. She was born in November 4, 1946 in the Midland, Texas; U.S. Laura Lane Welch was the only child of her parents. Father Harold Bruce Welch and mother Jenna Louise Hawkins. Jenna was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 78, and she endured the chemotherapy and now living a life with no further signs of cancer. Since, then the Laura has become the activist of breast cancer on behalf of her mother.
Her car crashed into another car and the impact of the accident was so fatal that it killed a friend and classmate, Michael Dutton Douglas, who was driving the other car. However, in the accident report it was revealed by the police that both drivers were not drunk and hence no charges were filed. Laura earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in the year 1968. In the University she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She joined as a school teacher at Longfellow Elementary School in Dallas after completion her graduation. In 1969 she taught for three years at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, a Houston Independent School District school in Houston. In the year 1973 Laura earned a Master of Science degree in Library Science from the University of Texas at Austin. Soon after the completion of her Master of Science she joined the job of librarian at the Kashmere Gardens Branch at the Houston Public Library. She continued this job till 1974. Then she moved backed to Austin. There she joined as a librarian at an Austin Independent School District school, Dawson Elementary School till 1977. |
